Sting Can't Stave Off Attack

Two penalties late in the game by Anthony Salinitri helped lift the Owen Sound Attack past the visiting Sarnia Sting 5-4 in overtime Saturday night.

Nick Suzuki scored the game winner on a power play 30 seconds into the extra frame.

The Attack's Petrus Palmu, his second, had tied the game on another power play with 1;11 left in the third, after Salinitri's clearing attempt went over the glass for a delay of game penalty.

Nick Price also had two goals for Owen Sound.

Adam Ruzicka had two goals for the Sting with singles going to Anthony Salinitri and Kevin Spinozzi.

Justin Fazio made 45 saves for the Sting who are idle until Friday when they visit Hamilton.

Despite the loss, the Sting had a successful week, claiming five of six points in their three games.

With 24 points, Sarnia still leads the OHL's West Division by a point over Sault Ste. Marie and two points up on idle Windsor.

The Greyhounds beat Flint 5-3 Saturday.

The Spitfires, with 3 games in hand on the Sting, host Barrie Sunday afternoon.
