Lambton OPP say a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation Thanksgiving Monday has led to a significant drug bust and the arrest of five people.
Police say a vehicle traveling north on Hwy. 40 in St. Clair Township was stopped just before 9pm October 10th.
Two people were initially arrested on outstanding warrants held by Lambton OPP and St Thomas police and a subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the discovery of various drugs.
OPP say 1.63 g of suspected crystal methamphetamine, over 260 hydromorphone pills and capsules, several fraudulent prescriptions and about 40 various pieces of identification were among the items seized.
All five occupants of the vehicle face charges including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of forged documents, identity theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
The arrested individuals are: Bradley Valer Demaiter, 25, of Lucan Biddulph Township, Shae-Lyn Arsenault, 21, of Sarnia, Emma Ley Blois, 21, of St. Clair Township, Paige Ashley Zakariah Keith Butterwick, 36, of St. Thomas and John Edward Thomas Locke, 27, of Sarnia.
All five were being held pending bail hearings Tuesday, October 11 at Sarnia court.
