Oktoberfest Kicks Off

Beer, sausage, games, and polka music will be on full display this weekend at Sarnia's second annual Oktoberfest.

It runs from 5pm until 12:30am Friday and again on Saturday from 3pm until 12:30am.

Spokesman Chris Lewis says they're looking to build on last year's successful event.

He says it was held inside the Bayside Mall, but they're moving it outside this year to Davis St. between Christina St. and Front St.

"I think people are always looking for different kind of things to do around town," says Lewis.

"We though maybe us combining good food with unique music, we've got four polka groups coming, and of course beer and sausage it should be a fun event."

Lewis says it's a 19 and over event and no pets are allowed.

Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a two day weekend pass which includes a commemorative beer stein.

Davis St. between Front St. and Christina St. will be closed until Sunday, October 16 at 9am for Oktoberfest.
