The suspect wanted in a pair of break and enters in Sarnia in May has been apprehended.
On May 16, a gas bar on Plank Rd. was robbed, and on May 21 an ATM was broken into at the former RBC Centre, now known as Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
With help from other police services, Sarnia police were able to determine who the suspect was.
It's alleged he was also involved in break and enters to ATMs and safes in other cities including London, Windsor, and Kingston.
Constable John Sottosanti says the individual is also believed to be linked to other investigations across the province.
"Recently, the Durham Regional Police East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau launched 'Project Echo' to attempt to locate and arrest suspects for break and enters which occurred in Durham Region," says Sottosanti. "On September 27, Durham Regional Police, along with the London Police Service, arrested two suspects in London as part of their investigation."
Sarnia police have charged Grant Charles Smith, 57, of London with two counts of mischief over $5,000, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and two counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence.
He's currently in Durham Region police custody, but there's a warrant in Sarnia for his arrest.
