Promoting The Point

The village of Point Edward is hoping a small investment has a big time payoff!

After attending a social media training session at Lambton College, CAO Jim Burns and counselor Larry Gordon thought a video would help promote the municipality.

The idea took flight after local marketing company Dragonfly Media asked for permission to launch their drone from Waterfront Park to get some footage.

"We negotiated with them to do a video to promote the village," he says. "We felt a video could be something that could be viewed quickly across different social media sites. It was a very cost effective way to get our message out to a very large audience."

The video, which cost $4,500 to produce, is voiced by former Blackburn Radio News Director Larry Gordon.

It features features footage of the Blue Water Bridge, the waterfront as well as businesses and marinas in the Point.
