When firefighters arrived on scene, flames were visible in the front of the home.
They contained the blaze to the living room on the main floor.
No one was home at the time and no injuries are reported.
Fire investigators say the blaze started in a couch and it was most likely caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette.
They were produced during an intense storm last Saturday afternoon.
