The Bluewater Trails Committee is celebrating the past, present and future of the Howard Watson Nature Trail at an open house from 10am until 2pm on Sunday.
Chair Tony Barrand says they have widened, or will be widening 15 km of the 16.75 km trail and have partnered with others on other improvements including benches every 500 m along the pathway.
"We fixed up the two bridges across the creeks in Brights Grove," he says. "Home Depot gave us the material and we gave money to the Golden K Kiwanis and they provided labour so they can use that money for their children's programs."
Donations from Shell, Suncor, TransAlta and Lanxess, combined with grants from the Sarnia Community Foundation, CN and federal government will result in $250,000 in improvements to the trail.
As an added attraction on the 18th, a number of dropped Pokemon Go lures will be dropped along the trail.
