Building activity in Sarnia has slowed down somewhat but is still slightly ahead of last year's pace.
City hall issued 66 permits in July for a year-to-date total of 373, 65 ahead of last year through seven months.
The largest permit was for just over $1-million at Bayside Mall at 150 Christina St. N. It was issued for interior alterations in preparation for construction of a Davy Jones Quality Meats grocery store.
Construction values for the year are at $41.9-million, compared to $38.7-million.
Fourteen permits were issued for single family homes in July bringing the year-to-date total to 81, compared to 69 last year.
