Sarnia Police Kept Busy Over Weekend

Thieves have been keeping police busy, 26 thefts were reported to Sarnia police over the weekend.

About half of the reported thefts were from unlocked vehicles or bikes.

Also, on Saturday evening, two homes on Briarfield Ave. were targeted for break and enters.

Police say in both cases, the home owners were either in the residence or in their back yards while the thief entered the home. They made off with items such as purses, computer tablets, a cell phone, a Nintendo DS and cash.

Officers attended a total of 243 calls for service including six break and enters, 12 domestic dispute calls as well as 13 unwanted persons.

Police also investigated seven motor vehicle crashes since Friday.
