Howard Watson Nature Trail Work Underway

Due to ongoing improvements to the Howard Watson Nature Trail, a portion of the popular route will be closed over the next few weeks.

Contractors have started grading the existing trail surface near Mandaumin Rd. and will be moving east to Blackwell Sd. Rd.

Granular "M", a mixture of sand, gravel, crushed stone and slag will be applied and the trail restored where need be.

As a result, sections of the trail will be closed from 7am until 7pm daily, with work expected to wrap up by June 24.

The improvements are possible, because of a $110,000 grant from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.

Through fundraising and the City's allocation of funds for trail maintenance, the Bluewater Trails committee is contributing another $110,000.
