New App Helps Ease Parking Pains

Parking in Grand Bend is going high-tech just in time for the long Victoria Day weekend.

Lambton Shores and Honk Mobile have launched an app that allows drivers to search for available parking and pay and top-up fees right from their smart phones.

Founder of the Toronto-based company Michael Back says finding parking can be a headache.

"You don't really know where it exists or hoe much it costs. You drive down their and keep your eyes open and circle until you find parking," says Back. "What we're trying to do is make it easier to find parking, and pay for parking"

The free app is available on any smartphone.

Back says it includes all 750 paid parking sports in Grand Bend's eight municipal lots, as well as available free parking.

The app also stores and manages parking receipts.
