CAA Worst Roads Campaign Accepting Nominations

The CAA's Worst Roads Campaign is back for another year. The Canadian Automobile Association is inviting residents to cast their votes for the worst roads in their community. Spokesman Raymond Chan says the goal of the campaign is to bring awareness of poor road conditions to the three levels of government. Chan says issues could include potholes, congestion, or poor traffic light timing. Waterworks Rd. and Plank Rd. were the most voted for in Sarnia-Lambton in 2015. Ontarians can nominate as many streets as they like, but the CAA says people cannot vote for the same road, bridge or highway twice.

This year's campaign comes as infrastructure funding from upper levels of government becomes more and more critical to municipalities. The CAA says that's why it continues to call on the provincial and federal governments to provide permanent, dedicated funding which will allow for road improvements.

Voting will continue until April 29 at CAAWorstRoads.com.
