A small number of SCITS students are happy to be home after spending their March Break on a trip through Europe -- a trip that included a stop in Brussels.
15 students, mostly grade 12, and three adult chaperones returned to class Monday after nine days in Europe.
Curriculum leader for English, Drama and Modern Languages April Brander says they were only in Brussels for a day, and never entered the airport or the subway system.
She says the kids had a great time on the trip, and doesn't think the attacks will discourage future trips down the road.
"These kids had an amazing experience, it's life changing to travel to world, and we did so many things in the nine days that we were in Europe," says Brander. "I can't imagine any of them would regret it even known what has happened."
Brander, who went on the trip for her third time, says they reconsidered their travel plans following the Paris attacks in November.
The group also travelled to London, Paris and Amsterdam.
