Sarnia Chef Competes On Food Network

A Sarnia chef got the chance to compete on the Food Network's "Chopped Canada" program Saturday night.

35-year-old Paresh Thakkar, owner of Personal Touch Eatery and Catering in Mitton Village, competed against three other chefs in the third season episode "Duelling Over Devilled Eggs."

In the episode, the chefs prepared appetizers, entrees and desserts before a panel of judges using mystery ingredients in timed rounds.

Thakkar made it through the first round but was eliminated in the second.

35-year-old Melanie Robinson of Sebright, Ontario, ultimately beat 52-year-old Lynda Smith of Comox B.C. and 46-year-old Dan Worth of Fernie B.C., to win the $10,000 first place prize.
