Sarnia-Lambton MP Joins Rail Caucus

Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu says new responsibilities she's taking on in Ottawa position her to advocate for improved passenger rail service. The Conservative member has been named co-chair of the Rail Caucus. Gladu says the parliamentary committee is intended to serve as an interface between all companies involved in rail in the country and MP's. She hopes to be able to advance Sarnia-Lambton's needs. "For the extra line that we need, for the service we need, for the connectivity that we need to the other services in order to get the ridership up," she says. "I think this is an excellent platform to do that from, you get to know all of the people who are the decision makers and to influence in that way." The first parliamentary meeting for the Rail Caucus is March 9. Gladu is also chair of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women.
