Possible Funding For Heavy Load Corridor

Sarnia Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu raised concerns over the recent Liberal Speech from the throne in the House of Commons Monday.

"The throne speech was extremely short without any detail in it, and so reading between the lines I felt there were things that ought to have been specifically said to make sure that the emphasis gets put in the right spot," says Gladu. "So I filled in the blanks in each of the sections of the throne speech and brought forward the concerns for both the riding and for my Science Critic portfolio."

She raised two issues of local concern, carbon pricing when oil prices have hit rock bottom, and specific infrastructure spending for heavy load corridors.

Gladu was told that the government will set up a pot of money for projects such as that, raising hopes that a corridor can be established locally.
