Highly Successful Exhibit Extended

The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery says public turnout for the Masterworks exhibit has been doing better than they ever expected, and it has now been extended by one week. As of January 21st, nearly 13,000 people had attended the Beaverbrook Art Gallery exhibit, surpassing the gallery's goal of 10,000 people. Curator Lisa Daniels says they had originally hoped to raise $7,500 in donations from the free exhibit, but are pleased to announce it has now broke the $30,000 mark. "People will be putting in money when they come in, cause that's part of the thing, they drop their five or twenty dollars in," says Daniels.

"But its amazing how many people on the way out will put in another twenty because its more than they expected." Donations are invested back into gallery operations to help keep events free and accessible to the community. Those interested in attending the event are encouraged to book a time slot online before the exhibit ends on February 15.
