After a remarkable string of Sarnia-Lambton lottery winners in late 2015, the area has its first winner of 2016. Friedhelm Mowe of Bright's Grove won $100,000 with Encore in the January 6 LOTTO 6/49 draw. The retired father of two plans to share his good fortune with his family and to continue to enjoy life.
“The day after the draw I picked up a slip with the winning numbers and then went home to check my ticket. I was surprised to see that six of my numbers matched,” said Friedhelm in a news release, quoted while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
“My family was really excited for me – more excited than I was!” The winning ticket was purchased at Desenas Variety on Lakeshore Rd. in Bright's Grove. There were eight major lottery winners in Sarnia-Lambton from September 2015 to year's end.
