Busy Agenda For City Council

Sarnia city council considers halting public discussions on post-retirement benefit cuts at its meeting Monday.

Council's recommended to receive and file a follow-up report on post-retirement benefit cuts and deal with the matter during future closed door negotiations. Previous discussions have taken place publicly over the past few months.

A review of regulations governing churches, soup kitchens, and food banks comes back to council for the third time Monday. This time, council's recommended to revert to the pre-2002 simplified bylaw model.

The city's waterfront purchase on Ferry Dock Hill in 2003 could be bringing in up to $98,000 in revenue starting 2018.

An expenditure of up to $450,000 is needed for the installation of upgrades, including an electrical transformer, at Sarnia Harbour.

And council could endorse a partnership that would apply for provincial funding to improve accessibility at Clearwater Arena.
