Accused Identified In Restaurant Melee

A 39-year-old Sarnia man facing numerous criminal charges in a dangerous altercation at a local restaurant has been released with conditions.

Kevin Michael Booth is to appear in court February 16 to answer to multiple counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and aggravated assault.

Four men suffered injuries ranging from scrapes and bruises to a broken femur in an incident early Sunday January 10 in the 1000 block of Finch Dr.

The accused and two other people allegedly became involved in a verbal altercation with another group of people while leaving the restaurant.

Friends of two men who were assaulted tried to intervene as the accused fled to his vehicle parked nearby. Police allege the accused drove his vehicle toward them, striking three males. The car then reversed and another man on the trunk eventually fell off.

Booth is also charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
