The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce has selected a new CEO and president.
Shirley de Silva will assume the top job on February 4.
Board Chair Rob Taylor says de Silva will be the first woman to hold the position.
"She brings with her a wide range of attributes, particularly around leadership. She's highly regarded from business advocates that we have talked to," says Taylor. "She has spent her time in the airline aviation industry in a number of executive positions.
"We're really excited about her and her leadership abilities."
de Silva will relocate to the community with her husband and two children from Sudbury.
She holds an undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Windsor and a master certificate in Municipal Leadership from York University's Schulich School of Business.
The role has been vacant since late September following the sudden departure of Rory Ring.
