No Weather-Related Incidents on Roads

Lambton OPP say they received no weather-related calls for service Sunday, overnight and Monday morning. Snow squalls caused poor visibility and slippery roads in isolated areas across the district. Constable Travis Parsons says, in fact, they've had only four motor vehicle collisions related to weather since November 1, 2015. He reminds us, however, that there's still nearly three months of winter to go. "We haven't had much of a winter yet, however, when winter does hit us, the OPP would like to remind drivers that just to take time to prepare themselves and their vehicles for the safe winter driving as we head into the winter months."

"The leading cause of collisions that occurred during the winter months is poor driving and not poor driving conditions," says Parsons. Main highways including the 402 are generally bare and dry as of midday Monday.
