Record Pre-Christmas Highs

The two days before Christmas 2015 in Sarnia are going in the books as the warmest on record.

After midnight early Thursday December 24, the temperature at Chris Hadfield Airport was 14 C. (57 F)

That value unofficially set a record high for the second straight day, snapping the previous mark of 11.5 C set on Christmas Eve 2014. The mercury at the airport hit 15.6 C (59 F) at 3pm Wednesday afternoon shattering the previous high for December 23rd of 11.7 C set in 1957. Temperatures are forecast to moderate somewhat for Christmas Day but will remain above the seasonal norm with a high of 6 C. (43 F)

The normal high at this time of year is -1 C. (30 F)
