220 employees at the Point Edward Casino have voted 96 per cent in favour of their first ever contract agreement. The members of Unifor Local 444 will get a 1.75 per cent wage increase in year one of the three year deal, as well as a $2,500 signing bonus and benefit package. The agreement covers dealers, marketing staff, and slot technicians who will earn between $16 and $24. It will be in in effect until November 13, 2018 or until a new operator is chosen, at which time the union will have the option of negotiating a new collective agreement.
