'Do the Right Thing' Mayor's Challenge

Sarnia's mayor laid down the gauntlet at today's Centre for Research on Work Disability Policy in Toronto.

Mike Bradley is following up his "Do The Right Thing" Mayor's challenge to hire people with a disability, with a "Do The Smart Thing" initiative.

Bradley says studies show that employees with a disability have reduced absenteeism rates, better safety records and better productivity.

People who have a disability make up 16 per cent of the Canadian population and offer a viable opportunity to a shortage of skilled labour.
