Wintry Weekend Forecast

We're getting a reminder that winter is just around the corner.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement saying that significant snow is possible in some areas of southwestern and central Ontario over the weekend.

The national weather agency says for areas from Windsor to Sarnia and north to Goderich rain or wet snow will begin Saturday morning with accumulations by Saturday evening ranging from 2 cm to 5 cm.

Forecasters say there is uncertainty about the exact track and intensity of a Texas low that could potentially dump 10 cm to 15 cm (6 in) across central Ontario by Sunday morning.

Heavy flurries and local blowing snow could cause reduced visibility at times in regions just east of Georgian Bay.

Travelers are advised to prepare for winter driving conditions.
