Job Market Survey Results

It's an outline of the current conditions of the local labour market.

With the help of several provincial and national stakeholders including dozens of local business owners, the Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board has released its 2015-16 Labour Market Update.

Executive Director Shauna Carr says the number one recruitment method used by employers was personal contacts.

There were 3,811 online job postings last year, with about half being for full time positions.

One quarter were for jobs in sales and service, followed by trades, transport and equipment operators, management, natural and applied sciences and business, finance and administration.

Of the close to 50,00 jobs in Sarnia Lambton, retail salespersons account for the highest number, 1,990 or four per cent.
