Sarnia councillor Brian White will be leading a local coalition in the fight against the privatization of Hydro One.
About 30 residents were encouraged at Tuesday's public meeting, held by the "Hydro One Not For Sale" campaign, to contact him if they were interested in joining.
Chair of the Advisory Committee Rosario Marchese says the sale of Hydro One is not a done deal until the public gives up.
He guarantees rates will go up for citizens and businesses if Hydro One is sold to the private sector.

Hydro One resulted in a profit of $742-million last year and giving away 60 per cent would result in a loss of $400-million to the private sector.
He encourages people to sign a petition for local MPP's to read in legislature, visit MPP's in person to voice concerns, and to send letters of concern marked 'private' and 'confidential' to both the Premier and Ministry of Energy to ensure it ends up in their hands.
To date, over 170 city and municipal councils, including Sarnia's, and 40 Chambers of Commerce have passed resolutions demanding the privatization be halted.
The first 15 per cent of Hydro One is expected to be sold within the next couple of weeks.
