Plympton-Wyoming Road Workers Ratify

Eight municipal employees in Plympton-Wyoming have ratified a new four year contract agreement. The deal was reached after last ditch negotiations Friday. The public roads maintenance workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, saw their last contract expire June 30. They're responsible for public roads including snow removal and water and sewer maintenance. Union local chair Greg Atkinson is pleased a settlement was reached prior to the deadline, saying they can now focus on keeping roads safe and clean for residents. Contract details are being withheld pending ratification by the municipality this week.
