Snow Squall Warning Ends In North And East Lambton

A snow squall warning for north and east Lambton County ended after 3am Sunday morning but Environment Canada issued a special weather statement later in the morning.

Forecasters say heavy lake effect flurries were expected to impact the area until mid afternoon Sunday causing near zero visibility at times and another 10 cm (4 in) of snow accumulation.

Some thunder and lightning were also possible.

Snow squall warnings remained posted for London-Middlesex and the Goderich area in neighbouring Huron County.

The eastbound 402 near Scotchmere Dr. was impacted until mid morning Sunday due to a jack-knifed tractor trailer.

Hydro One was working to resolve power outages in parts of north Lambton including the Grand Bend area.

Restoration times ranged from 2pm to 6pm.

After a high of only 6 C (43 F) Sunday and the risk of frost again Sunday night, temperatures will recover with a high of 15 C (59 F) forecast for election day Monday in Sarnia.
