As forecast, the arrival of a cold front Friday produced snow squalls to the lee of Lake Huron impacting north and east Lambton County.
There were some power outages attributed to the pre-Halloween snow, slippery road surfaces and significantly reduced visibility.
The main snow squall southeast of Lake Huron extended from roughly Grand Bend to Strathroy, and was expected to meander in that general vicinity for much of the day Saturday.
Environment Canada forecasters issued a snow squall warning for north and east Lambton County Friday evening.
The weather agency expected the snow squalls would likely become more disorganized Saturday afternoon but re-intensify with total snowfall amounts of 15 cm (6 in) expected by the evening in a few locales, such as Watford and Arkona.
Further significant amounts are likely Saturday night into Sunday.
Snow squalls overnight caused power outages to over 1,300 Hydro One customers in Grand Bend, Bosanquet Township and Stephen Township Saturday morning.
Crews were patrolling affected areas and making repairs to restore service.
