A sub-committee of Tourism Sarnia-Lambton updated county council today on plans for a new Lambton County welcoming sign along westbound Hwy. 402.
The committee says the ideal site would be at Quaker Rd, 2 km east of Nauvoo Rd.
Councillor Todd Case says you can barely read the current sign, and a new one is needed to let drivers know they're entering Lambton.

The sub-committee also presented designs for wayfinding signage, that directs travellers to local attractions.
All signs will incorporate the recently adopted county brand, "Discoveries That Matter."
Construction of the welcoming sign is estimated at $75,000 with an additional $10,000 per year for maintenance and upkeep.
