Jakob Chychrun says he's ready for the new season, which will be a big one for both him and the Sarnia Sting.
Chychrun has been impressive from day one, after the Sting selected the defenseman first overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.
Despite injuries limiting Chychrun to just 42 games last season, he still managed to pick up 33 points from the back end.
He says at first it was tough when his season ended, but adds its been a blessing in disguise as his shoulder is feeling better than ever.

Chychrun says his leadership role with the team will continue to grow in his second season.
He will once again where an 'A' for the Sting this year, joining him as assistant captains will be Josh Jacobs, Brandon Lindberg and Alex Black.
Overage forward Daniel Nikandrov was named team captain.
