Two truck drivers were taken to hospital, one with critical injuries, following a chain reaction rear end crash involving three transports on Hwy. 402 at Christina St. Thursday morning.
All westbound lanes were closed at Christina until about 3:30pm.
The OPP, EMS and 15 firefighters from Sarnia and Point Edward responded with five trucks to the collision around 8:15am.
Constable Chris Doupe says an air ambulance was dispatched, landing on the westbound 402 just west of the Christina St. overpass, but the injured drivers were transported to hospital by land ambulance instead.
A 52-year-old American resident had to be extricated from his badly damaged cab and was listed in critical condition, but upgraded to stable later in the day.
A 33-year-old driver from Ontario suffered minor injuries and was released from hospital following treatment.
The investigation is ongoing
