A 22-year-old man was in custody awaiting a bail hearing after being arrested Sunday night in connection with a high speed police chase in Sarnia Friday afternoon. A pursuit with speeds reaching 90 km/h took place after police tried to pull over a white GMC pickup truck with improper plates seen on Mitton St. The truck was pursued on Talfourd, Vidal and Campbell Streets before heading south on Indian Rd. but police backed off on Lasalle Line because of public safety concerns. The pickup was later found abandoned on Afton Court and a suspect was arrested around 8:30pm Sunday. He's facing charges of dangerous driving, evading police and breach of probation.
