Business Friendly City

Sarnia is being recognized by the Financial Times.

The city ranked eighth of 37 in terms of "business friendliness" in a recent publication by the organization.

Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce President Rory Ring says it speaks to the innovation of companies at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park and newer plants like BioAmber.

The magazine says 421 locations in North America were graded on economic potential, business friendliness, human capital and lifestyle, cost effectiveness and connectivity.

Ring says the ranking could entice more businesses to locate to the area.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
