Thousands of people lined the Sarnia and Port Huron waterfronts Sunday as the fifth annual International Powerboat Festival came to a conclusion with thundering racing on the St. Clair River.
A couple of vessels overturned but there were no reports of any injuries.
Some of the boats reach speeds in excess of 200 km/h.
Perfect weather brought attendance over the three day festival, in Sarnia, to an estimated 40,000, which is 10,000 more than last year.
There were concerts Friday and Saturday night and various other activities and Greekfest relocated to the downtown this year, in conjunction with the powerboat event.
