Bridge Bash Ready To Party

It's going to be quite the party under the Bluewater Bridge this weekend!

The Point Edward Optimists are holding their annual Bridge Bash event Friday and Saturday with live musical entertainment, a beer garden, and food tent.

If you're a country music fan, you'll enjoy Borderline and The Barn Burners on Friday night. Chemical Valley & Retrospect are set to perform on Saturday.

Event organizer Rob Oberholzer says all proceeds from their $5 ticket entry and beer sales go towards a future park addition.

"Proceeds for the entire event are earmarked for a splashpad we're going to put in under the bridge, slated to break ground this coming April," says Oberholzer.

Optimists believe they'll need to raise $100,000 for the project.

Around 3,000 people are expected to attend over the weekend, and possibly even more thanks to the FireFit competition also taking place both days.
