Sarnia is known for hosting one of the largest per capita Canada Day celebrations in the country and 2015 was no exception.
Thousands crammed into Canatara Park for the annual parade that began at 11:30am, moving from Lakeshore and Colborne into the park.
Opening ceremonies were at 1:30pm with the singing of Oh Canada and the cutting of the cake for the country's 148th birthday.
Festivities continued from 11am till 4pm at Canatara with multi-cultural entertainment at the band shell, ethnic food booths, arts and crafts and various attractions and activities for kids.
The park was a sea of red and white.
At 4pm the party shifted to the Sarnia waterfront and Bayshore Parking Lot with entertainment and activities, culminating with the fireworks display at 10pm.
Thousands gathered along the riverfront despite unseasonably cool weather.
