As the month of June comes to a close, there is no reopening date set for the original Blue Water Bridge span. It's been closed for three months for surface repaving and undercoating. Officials hoped to have the work completed by July. Diane Cross of the Michigan Department of Transportation says the Canadian side was still working on the final stages of the refurbishing and she is unable to provide a confirmed reopening date yet. All traffic, inbound and outbound, continues to use the newer south span that was completed in 1997.
