Some residents might still be cleaning their flooded basements from heavy rains on Monday night, and they're about to face another big storm.
Around 30 to 50mm of rain is expected Saturday, with winds gusting in the 50-70km/h range. Sarnia's Public Works Department responded to about 50 calls following storm activity earlier this week. Operations Manager Brian Prouse says the area south of London Rd. and west of East St. often experiences the most problems during heavy rainfall. Residents are advised to make sure catch basins are clear from debris, and downspouts are directed away from the home to help prevent water damage.
