The federal government is providing Oil Springs with over $29,000 in honour of the village's 150th anniversary.
Sarnia-Lambton Conservative MP Pat Davidson says part of the money will go toward a historical community garden with a stone monument and bronze plaque in honour of the first commercial oil well in North America.

Davidson says it's been a year long celebration in Oil Springs with various concerts and events already having taken place.
