Sarnia police are again urging residents to protect themselves against phone and e-mail scams.
Constable Les Jones says the warning comes after two separate incidents this week in which people were defrauded of over $1,000 each.
He says in the first incident, the victim was told there was money missing from their bank account and they wired the overage to a branch in India.
Jones says the other fraud involved a work at home scam. The victim was to post advertisements on a website and receive a weekly paycheck. She was told her computer needed upgrades and sent a cheque to a business in the UK.
Jones says it's important to verify the authenticity of phone calls or e-mails, and be wary of requests to transfer money to foreign banks.
