In a seven to one vote, Sarnia City Council gave the go ahead for the overall concept plan for continued remediation and revitalization of Centennial Park.
Councillor Dave Boushy voted against the motion to approve the draft plan, for financial reasons.

Councillor Bev MacDougall says the park could possibly become a source of revenue as well for the city and Councillor Mike Kelch called a priority project.
The public will now get a chance to give their input on Phase two and three of the $5.5-million plan which includes the relocation of the boat launch and demolition of the Dow People Place this summer.
Three public meetings are planned at the Sarnia Bay Marina May 27, June 9 and June 29.
As part of Phase 1 of the project, a significant portion of the fencing around the great lawn at Centennial Park will be removed in June.
