Support Training For Adolescent Mental Health Issues

It's the first in of its kind in Canada and will hopefully help adolescents get the help they need for mental health issues.

The Central Lambton Family Health Team has partnered with Western University's School of Medicine in a training program for six local rural physicians, four medical residents, a nurse practitioner, and a social worker.

They're being extensively trained to recognize and deal with youngsters experiencing psychological problems.

Experts from the School of Medicine will follow-up on the program in a few months to see how effective it has been or whether more training is needed.
