The mayor of Plympton-Wyoming is meeting with Transport Ministry staff May 13 about winter safety concerns on Hwy. 402 in its jurisdiction.
Mayor Lonny Napper read with great interest the Ontario Auditor General's report that accuses the liberal government of putting lives at risk in order to save $36-million.
He says road maintenance during the winter must be properly funded.

Napper says other items to be discussed with the ministry include tree planting, cameras and using the old weigh scale area as a safe haven for vehicles to get off the road during severe weather.
Auditor General Bonne Lysyk reported Wednesday that before the change to "performance-based'' contracts, Ontario's most travelled highways were cleared of snow about two hours after a storm, but that increased to an average of five hours by 2013-14.
Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley calls the report "shocking."
