Ipperwash Beach Agreement Reached

A temporary agreement has been reached banning vehicle traffic on Ipperwash Beach this summer.

Representatives of Lambton Shores, Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs came to agreement this week.

Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber says it's great news for the area and bodes well for future projects.

The agreement comes after Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, in December, took down long standing blockades preventing vehicle access to the beach.

Concern was expressed about safety if vehicles were allowed on the beach during summer months.
