Bluewater Health is calling for expressions of interest and will compile a list of possible sites for a withdrawal management facility.
The only identified potential location for the detox centre is the former health unit building on the south side of George St.
It is an 18,000 sq ft option that is part of development plans for the old Sarnia General Hospital.
Manager of Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions, Deborah Hook, says they're proposing a 22,600 sq ft, 24-bed facility.
