Province Providing Additional Addiction Funding

The provincial government has announced it's investing $28-million in mental health and addiction services.

Each of the 14 Local Health Integration Networks will allocate an additional $2-million for 2014-2015.

Erie-St. Clair LHIN spokesperson Julie Franchuk says exactly where the money will go is still to be determined.

In a news release today, the province says the next phase of its strategy includes $138-million over three years.

A detox centre is included in development plans for the old Sarnia General Hospital site.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley is hopeful.
