City Busy With Frozen Pipe Calls

Residents with frozen pipes are urged to be patient.

Sarnia Public Works has received some 65 calls for frozen pipes over the last week and a half.

Operations Manager Bryan Prouse says they're doing their best to keep up, but it takes time for crews to thaw the service by pumping hot water into it.

In the meantime, Lambton Public Health has issued its seventh cold weather alert of the season.

The temperature is expected to drop to -16°C Wednesday night and below -20°C on Thursday.

Environmental Health Specialist Paul Buttery says Thursday will be another day for children at local daycares and schools to stay inside.

The current alert will remain in effect for the remainder of the week.
